McGann-Mercy Career Café Program
Career Café is an opportunity for McGann-Mercy High School students to meet alumni and to be introduced to different career paths.
Throughout the year, students in grades 9 – 12 will be invited to have lunch and discuss the presenters’ career journey. Our goal is to educate students about various career opportunities that they are interested in pursuing and understand the connection between school and the world of careers.
Interested students will need to bring a “brown-bag” lunch on the day of the presentation. Each presentation session will be thirty minutes with approximately 10-15 students per session. Students must sign up in the Guidance Department to be eligible to participate. School Counselors will meet with students prior to the scheduled Career Café to prepare students and encourage students to meet with us after for feedback.
Based on a recent student survey, the following Career Cafés have been scheduled:
Thursday October 20th Richard LeBrun, Detective
Thursday November 17th Michael Rudolph, Scientist
Thursday December 1st Jackie Kelly, Nurse
Thursday February 2nd Amanda Termine, Pharmaceuticals
Thursday March 2nd Brian Macarthur, Military
Thursday April 6th Meghan Sullivan, Lawyer
If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact the Guidance Department at (631) 727-5900 ext. 340.
