PLTW Engineering

Project Lead The WAY (PLTW) is the nation's leading provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs. PLTW's world-class project and problem-based curriculum and high-quality teacher professional development, combined with an engaged network of educators and corporate partners, help students develop the skills they need to be successful in post-secondary education and beyond.

At McGann-Mercy we specialize in PLTW Engineering, offering courses in Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Computer Science Principles. Students have the opportunity to take one or all of these courses from their sophomore through senior year in order to develop and strengthen their skills and prepare them for advanced collegiate studies in engineering.

Graduates of this program have gone on to pursue degrees in engineering at some of the nation's most competitive universities, including Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Villanova University, Manhattan College, Tufts University, and Virginia Tech. Through this program, they enter college far ahead of their classmates in terms of their knowledge and experience with these principles, and real hands-on experience in the field.
