National Honor Society Criteria
The Sr. Mary Euphrasia Chapter of the National Honor Society at Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School is an elite academic and service organization that serves both our school and community. Students are eligible for membership in the second half of their junior year if they have met certain criteria in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service.
The criteria are as follows:
- A minimum cumulative average of 93% for a total of five semesters at McGann-Mercy.
- A minimum of 15 hours of verifiable community service outside of the school setting. Attestation of these hours to an outside organization must be typed on the organization's letterhead.
- Two letters of recommendation that attest to both character and leadership qualities of the candidate from a faculty member or an outside source (other than a family member).
