Fine Arts

Fine Arts Department

The Fine Arts Department enriches students through music, art, and theatre.  Student works are shared with the community through concerts, art exhibits, and theatrical productions.  Each year, the theatre department presents a comedy, drama, and a musical production which allows students to develop their acting skills and take part in stage craft opportunities to enrich their educational experience. The art department exhibits students’ works in the annual art show while also participating in community outreach programs. The music department puts on five concerts each school year, showcasing the musical talents within the Junior High and the High School. The music department also participates in festivals and competitions in-state and out-of-state as well as in NYSSMA and SCMEA each year.

Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School’s Fine Arts Department strives to cultivate a well-rounded student. Here at Bishop McGann-Mercy, we are more than just public entertainment. Our program gives students the opportunity to explore unique perspectives that go beyond numbers or a printed text and develop a deep, meaningful, positive and beneficial understanding of what the arts have to offer.
